Another vodka lullaby
With a handful of sleeping pills
I think of what you did to me
Oh Darling how it gives me chills
How I wish someday I could see
Inside your pretty little head
To know why on that fateful day
You chose to sleep with her instead
You know I can’t bear to spite you
My precious love, my angel dear
I try so hard to feel the hate
But all I ever feel is fear
So now there is the aftermath
And I know just where I will start
Another vodka lullaby
The cure for every broken heart

Imagine a life as a slave
To windows convex and concave
Some are stained, others bathroom glass
A new view through each that you pass
A blending of truth and deceit
Distorted by people you meet
The threads, oh so tightly they weave
That you know not who to believe
You run to your windows once more
Now finding them worse than before
Lashing out, you destroy one and all
Watching shattered shards as they fall
Blood soaked and weary from attack
Victory!
Suddenly, the world fades to black

Energy draining tear by tear
One thousand sirens in my ear
One thousand trip wires under feet
One thousand tasks still incomplete
One thousand sleepless nights reveal
One thousand nightmares oh so real
One thousand angry outbursts stored
One thousand prayers are still ignored
One thousand headaches every day
Yet no option to run away
